Academic Counseling
I have been providing academic counseling support to college and university students for over ten years. Currently I work as a staff psychologist at Harvard’s Center for Academic and Personal Development, The Bureau of Study Counsel, where I help undergraduate and graduate students with the personal, social, career and academic problems that interfere with their educational goals.
In my private practice, I similarly provide academic counseling to college undergraduate and graduate students. I have worked with students from UMass Boston, Fitchburg State, Suffolk University, Northeastern University, Boston University, MIT, Simmons College, Wheelock College, Mass Art, and Harvard’s Business School, Design School, Divinity School and Law School. In my practice I also work with local area high school students. I have worked with students from BC High, Needham High School, Cohasset High School, Norwell High School, Hingham High School, Derby Academy and Notre Dame Academy to name a few.
In academic counseling, I welcome students to explore issues of school and life and how these affect one another. In our sessions, I can help you as a student address concerns such as concentration, attention regulation, distractibility, procrastination, time management, test anxiety, test taking strategies, productivity, and learning style. In our conversations we can also work to help you connect with your sense of motivation and interest and to learn more about yourself in order to make better choices with regard to your intellectual and personal pursuits.
